Position Overview
The Landscape Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of landscaping professionals to execute high-quality maintenance and enhancement services for commercial properties. This role involves planning, organizing, and supervising daily tasks while ensuring safety, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Management

- Lead and supervise a crew of landscaping team members to complete assigned tasks.
- Provide training and guidance on proper techniques, equipment use, and safety protocols.
- Assign tasks and monitor team performance to ensure productivity and quality standards.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork.

- Project Coordination and Execution

- Review work orders, schedules, and client requirements to plan daily operations.
- Ensure all landscaping tasks are completed according to scope, timeline, and quality standards.
- Perform hands-on landscaping tasks, including mowing, edging, pruning, mulching, planting, and other maintenance or enhancement activities as needed.
- Identify and address issues related to plant health, irrigation, or site conditions.

- Equipment and Resource Management

- Oversee the proper use, care, and maintenance of tools, vehicles, and equipment.
- Ensure the crew has the necessary tools, materials, and resources to complete tasks efficiently.
- Maintain an inventory of supplies and coordinate with management for replenishment as needed.

- Client Relations

- Serve as the on-site point of contact for clients, addressing concerns or requests professionally.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining high service standards and promptly resolving issues.
- Communicate client feedback and site updates to management.

- Safety Compliance

- Enforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
- Conduct pre-shift safety meetings and ensure all crew members use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report and document accidents, incidents, or equipment malfunctions promptly.

- Administrative Duties

- Complete and submit daily work reports, timesheets, and site assessments.
- Monitor and report crew hours, productivity, and job progress to management.
- Assist with scheduling and planning for upcoming projects.

Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of landscaping techniques, plant care, irrigation systems, and equipment operation.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, site plans, and safety documents.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; CDL is a plus.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions.

- Ability to work in a physically demanding role, including lifting, bending, squatting, and prolonged standing.
- Ability to operate machinery and tools with precision.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including heat, rain, and cold temperatures.
